PATHOLOGY ANNOUNCE ALBUM TITLE, STREET DATE AND ARTWORK
San Diego-based brutal death metal/slam band PATHOLOGY is completing the mixes for their new album. The effort, produced by Daniel Castleman (As I Lay Dying, Winds of Plague, Impending Doom) at Lambesis Studios, is entitled Awaken To The Suffering , and will be released Sept. 13th, 2011. Once again the band has utilized the talents of Par Olofsson (Immolation, Malevolent Creation) to handle the artwork.
“The recording came out great. This is by far the best thing we have ever done. Everything is extremely heavy and very tight,” explains drummer Dave Astor. “It's great working with Par again on this cover. He did an amazing job. We decided to do a pencil sketch cover this time around. We also brought back the evil doctor to continue the zombie havoc.”
The quintet will head on tour Aug. 26th beginning with some headlining dates in Texas before joining Sweden’s Grave and Norway’s Blood Red Throne on Aug. 30th for a N. American tour (Gigan opens).

PATHOLOGY Begins Recording New Album
San Diego's PATHOLOGY has entered Lambesis Studios (owned by AS I LAY DYING vocalist Tim Lambesis) in the band's hometown with producer Daniel Castleman (IMPENDING DOOM, AS I LAY DYING, WINDS OF PLAGUE) to begin recording its new album for a fall release. This will be PATHOLOGY's first CD to feature the group's new lineup, including vocalist Jonathan Huber and second guitarist Kevin Schwartz, who have spent time on the road with their new bandmates during recent U.S. and European tours with DEICIDE and OBITUARY.
"I'm very excited to be back in the studio," states drummer Dave Astor. "Producer Daniel Castleman has done some of the best and heavy recordings out there. This will be the tightest and heaviest recording we have ever done. The new material we wrote is more thought out and way more brutal then anything that we have ever written. We're doing the same brutal music as we have always done. We just made the breakdowns heavier, the fast parts faster, and the slow parts slower."
PATHOLOGY's next U.S. tour — as the support act for GRAVE and BLOOD RED THRONE — will kick off on August 30.

PATHOLOGY to peform at Mexico City Fest this weekend; plan to start recording new album this summer
San Diego’s death metal merchants PATHOLOGY recently returned home from their first European tour supporting OBITUARY and GRAVE. The tour was a massive success for the band playing in front of some of their largest crowds yet, culminating in an appearance at the Neurotic Death Fest.
“We had a blast in Europe,” states drummer Dave Astor. “It was great to meet all of our fans, and to have the chance to make new ones out there. It was also special to hang out with Obituary and Grave every night. They were all very cool people to tour with and it was overall a great experience.”
This weekend their adventure continues as the group heads to Mexico City to perform at the METAL IN THE FOREST FEST alongside a tremendous and diverse bill featuring MARDUK, SINISTER, WATAIN, EXHUMED, RAGE, GAMA BOMB and VIOLATOR.
“We’re looking forward to this Mexico fest this weekend,” continues Dave. “This will be our first time there and we are all very excited. We have heard some great things about the insane fans down there and we look forward to this unique opportunity.”
The Metal in the Forest Fest will be the last date on the Legacy of the Ancients touring cycle as PATHOLOGY are completing the writing for a new album to be recorded this summer.
“The writing process for the new album is going very smooth. The new songs are some of the heaviest stuff we have ever written,” explains Dave. “We are all thrilled to be working with producer Daniel Castleman (Impending Doom, As I Lay Dying, Winds of Plague) at Lambesis Studios here in San Diego. I am a fan of all his recordings and feel his skills will bring our sound to where it needs to be.”
Expect a new album in the fall with the band already confirmed for their next US tour supporting GRAVE and BLOOD RED THRONE beginning August 30th.

nightly by the warm response of the crowd.
Today the band announces their next US and Canadian dates opening for Sweden’s GRAVE and Norway’s BLOOD RED THRONE beginning
Aug. 30 in Tampa, Florida. “We’re very excited to already be able to announce we have our next tour booked,” says drummer Dave Astor.
“We’ll be opening for Grave, another legend in the death metal scene. This tour will be in support of a new album as we’ll be recording this
summer.”
Before PATHOLOGY record they will be going to Europe for 5 weeks of shows beginning March 24th opening for OBITUARY and GRAVE,

PATHOLOGY NAME NEW VOCALIST;
BAND TO RETURN TO THE ROAD OPENING FOR DEICIDE THIS MONTH
2010 was a volatile year for San Diego's PATHOLOGY. While it saw the band releasing its Victory Records debut, "Legacy Of The Ancients",
and doing three tours (alongside NILE, IMMOLATION/VADER and DESTROYER 666), the group was plagued by a rotation of fill-in singers
and ultimately a horrible van accident that derailed the band from continuing.
Since that tragic event November 10, the guys have been putting things back in order. In addition to a new van, trailer and gear, PATHOLOGY
has also enlisted a new full-time vocalist to replace original voice Matti Way, who was unable to tour with the band. Jonathan Huber, formerly
of I DECLARE WAR, has taken over duties as frontman for PATHOLOGY. In addition to his stellar vocal capabilities, Jonathan proved to have
the right attitude and presence that won him the spot.
"I'm very honored and feel very privileged to now be a part of the PATHOLOGY family," stated Jonathan. "After being a fan of theirs for three
years, being in the band is pretty surreal. I look forward to touring and recording with the band, and thank them for this opportunity."
Fans can see the new lineup beginning mid-month as they will open for DEICIDE and BELPHEGOR (tour dates below).
"I'm very excited to get back on the road," stated Dave. "We have been working hard to get things back in working order after our car wreck and I am
thrilled to be playing again and am looking forward to showing the fans the new lineup. I have always been a big fan of DEICIDE. I remember seeing
and meeting them in 1992 on Halloween here in San Diego. So to be touring with them 19 years later is very cool! We play very early on this tour so
make sure to get there and catch our set."
